matthew Chaney: Hi, and thanks for stopping by. For those of you that don’t know yet, I am planing a motorcycle trip to Alaska. It’s going to be roughly 14000 miles round trip and take me somewhere around 6 weeks. I’ll be leaving on 7/10/11 and it should take me 25 days to get there. The trip home will “only” take me 15 days as I will be taking the great circle route. To many of you this trip may sound a bit on the nutty side, or maybe something like a mid life crises. But for those that know me well it just sounds like one of my regular adventures, and as I’m not currently married there is no crises about it. I’ve been working on this trip for about 2 years now. I had to buy a different bike than the one I road to Maine in 2009. I had to equip it for the trip, buy some new camping gear and even practice camping in the rain and cold (45* and that’s cold for me). There have been many bench marks along the way that I needed to clear, and some still left to get over. I am confident however that I will clear these last few hurdles. Mainly money.
