Sunday 17th

I may have lost count of the days, so I'll just go with the date from now on.
Today was the first downer of a day. It started out all good, nice roads, clear weather. But then the road became straight, long and hot. I had nice mountain views on both sides, but that was about it. After a few hundred miles I climbed back up into the mountains and over a pass. When I came down on the other side I was in Jackson Hole. One of nicest places I remember from my youth. 30 years ago it was a sleepy ski town. Now it's a crazy "ski resort" with a thousand people all going in circles try to find something, happyness, beauty, quite, none of which were easy to find here.
After that I headed up to the National park to find a spot for thre night. When I reached the gate they told me it was $20 just to get in, and camping was extra. A first for me with a national park. I asked what gives? They told me that the park is run by a company that owns all the concessions. So i asked about camping, the answer was, I don't know. To make a long story short, after checking with every campground I came to I was told they were full, but the next one has space. This went on for 100 miles. The very last campground was full #@$&$#
So I drove around the campground anyway and found some guys on bikes, started to tell them my situation, but before I could finnish they invited me to share their spot.
End of a very long day.
I don't tink I stil be going back to the "yellowstone amusement park" anytime soon. This is what happens when you sell off National treasures.

Day 5 and 6

It seems that some times when I try to save a post I can't post it later. So here's 5 and 6
After leaving Keven's house I headed for the mountains. It was awesome awesome, double dine-o-mite. The weather was perfect, the roads where smooth and curvey. I road until late and found a campsite for 5 dollars a few miles down a dirt road. It was right on a river and there where only 4 other campers.
I got an early start the next day and was cold for the first time on my trip. My campsite was at 9000 ft and it was a cool ride in the morning. The roads just got better than they were the day before. I left cool Colorado and headed back into desert. Ut is hot and dry. I finally made it back into the mountains and am currently camped on the edge of a cliff. It's cool, the wind is blowing and I'm looking forward to a good night sleep.

Finally made out of Colorado

One of tthew best campsites I've ever had. It's right on the edge of a cliff.

Ta Talk about life on the edge

My camp last night was at 9000 ft. So it was a bit cool this morning. Got up early and early and hit the road. The bike love the mountains, it's getting over 60mpg right now. I finally made it to a lower ground and I'm warming up. Soon I'm off fore Wyoming. Just another day with out an alarm clock. Damm that's nice.

Coffe brake

After a wonderful night stay at the Keven and Sandy b&b I feel great. I highly recommend this place. Not only do they feed you a nice home cooked meal at night, they clean and fold your landry, and will also give you an almost home made burrito for breakfast. Excellent.
Went out with keven and shot some pool, drank some beers, and enjoyed a night of relaxation. This was an excellent stop that wasn't on my original route. Nice detour.
The bad news is I missed my turn to Plactias NM. So I'll miss seeing Rodger. Damm. That whole seat of the pants navigation thing isn't as reliable as I think it is. But I'm off to the mountains. Woo woo. :))
